Just moved to the area and Papa Joe's is my favorite place for great pizza and delicious fried pickles! The workers are so friendly as well.
Ordered the Jalapeño bacon wontons for an appetizer. It was delicious! 4 huge pieces and we chose the house made bang bang sauce, also very good.
My husband had the Jalapeño burger, I had the Olive Burger, our friends had the Cadillac Burger and the White Chicken Lasagna. Everything was delicious!
The staff was super friendly and we had excellent service.
We really loved the decor. Vinyl records and record covers on the walls including a train (quite appropriate for Durand) made out of albums, cd's with railroad tracks made out of cassette tapes!
We'll definitely be back.
Fun atmosphere and the service was great! Portions are HUGE! We didn't break the bank and even brought some home. Fun family restaurant.
We ordered our food to dine in...but for some reason all of it was served in take out containers.
Half the time we were there nobody served us.
My daughter ordered the blueberry waffles and was served plain waffles with a side of black gunk in a cup, it disappointed her greatly as much as any five year old would be.
I only give it a three because prior to this visit I have ate their food on several occasions via delivery orders. They have wonderful American pizza, wings and fried pickles. The only exception is that they lack quality experience when dining in.
I feel that our experience was unfair. I had high expectations but now I know not to ever bother going back again. As a former waitress, I've never omitted a tip but their performance was well past embarrassing.
Another "Meh" pizza place. I went here on the advice from my brother's friend who raves about Papa Joe's pizza. It was disappointing. To begin with, it was really expensive for two pizzas. Maybe they have coupons? Maybe they're cheaper for locals? I don't know. What I do know is I wouldn't come back for average pizza that is more expensive than any other pizza in Genesee and Shiawasee Counties.
